Michelle & Greg - Brown Mountain Beach Resort Wedding
Michelle & Greg’s wedding day was definitely one of my favorites to date. I had always wanted to capture a wedding at Brown Mountain Beach Resort after seeing some beautiful photos of it online so when they asked me to tag along I was excited to make the drive.
One of my favorite things about these two are how laid back they are. They didn’t care for getting ready photos, or all the fancy “staged” things that sometimes come along with weddings. They just cared about capturing the day as it happened, which is something I’m definitely all about.
After a fun first look over the river, they took some photos, hugged loved ones, and prepared to share vows at the beach. With the threat of rain looming over them the clouds broke just in time for a magical, cloud covered ceremony at the shoreline.
The coolest part of their wedding was their programs, that guests can plant and wildflowers will grow! How awesome is that! They also had bamboo and recyclable plates and cutlery to have an eco friendly wedding.
The highlight of the day was the fact that these two had a 30 minute picnic time scheduled for just of the two of them to enjoy each others company, check out the foliage (since Michelle is a botanist) and eat all the delicious food (seriously the best caterer I’ve ever eaten from).
Of course i snagged a few photos as they popped their bottle of champagne and settled in but after that I let them have their time. (because its about the moments not always the photos)
During the reception they danced, laughed, ate cake, and I got to capture my first flashless reception as they danced under the twinkle lights outside on the patio. It was truly a perfect day and I’m so thankful I got to be apart of it.
