Alyssa & James - Burning Coal Theatre Wedding
Okay this is a crazy story - I shot a wedding a year ago at the Burning Coal Theater and Alyssa found my photos online. We met, we drank coffee, all was well - but she wanted me to meet her fiance James before the wedding. When I scheduled their engagement session (which you can view here) James and I found out that I knew his sister. From there we also discovered we are both aspiring novelists and have been doing creative workshops about twice a month ever since.
These two are the most creative, interesting, hilarious, and real people I have ever met. Alyssa was totally down to play in the rain (even though it held off just for them) and is so down to earth she let her bridesmaid CUT the bottom of her dress before the reception (Yes, there are photos of this).
These two are not traditional by any means which is what I love about them. They shared an emotional first look at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery which totally matched the mood (dark, rainy skies and all). They were married by James' father, in an all black theater, under the illumination of twinkle lights, amongst family and friends. They definitely danced (so much dancing) and they forgot the "cutting of the cake" but still chowed down on strawberry and vanilla slices with glasses of bubbly.
The entire day was perfect and they were completely surrounded by love. I'm so happy to call these two my friends and I can't wait to see all the great things life has to offer the two of them.
Congrats again and enjoy this re-telling through imagery.
