Outdoorsy Engagement Photography at Jordan Lake with Anna & Axel

When Anna reached out to me to capture her Eno elopement I was ecstatic, her kind email sung my praises (which I don't know if i'm deserving of) and I was all set! But then when she asked if she could add on an engagement session I was even more thrilled. While 1/3 of my wedding photography clients in Raleigh decide not to have an engagement session (typically because they are out of towners) these one hour sessions are a great way for us to get to know one another and warm up before the wedding day.

Anna and Axel are big outdoorsy people and actually scouted this location for me (extra win because I will definitely be using it again in the future). One of their favorite kayaking spots, we hiked down and settled in. They brought a picnic of Whole Foods cake, hot cider, and champagne! YES! As we sat together and chatted.

The longer I’ve been doing this job the more I’ve fallen in love with simple, everyday tasks such as making a picnic, or engaging in a normal activitiy and this session was just that. After drinks and dessert these two headed straight to the water to get a little kayaking in as the sun set off Jordan Lake, creating some pretty epic views. I can’t wait to see what these two have in store for me for their elopement next year.
