Backyard Brazilian Wedding in Carrboro - Juliana & Avery

If you’ve been here for awhile, then you know that I love a non-traditional backyard wedding. There is just something so intimate and beautiful about getting married with your closest friends and family in a location that doesn’t get a lot of attention from the outside world.

Juliana reached out to me because her florist recommended me (Shout out to Folie à Deux Events) and she really appreciated my documentary style photography. Ju and Avery met several years ago and love a big party! I instantly wanted to get to know Ju and Avery and photograph their special day! A simple backyard wedding, full of colors, flowers, and a charcuterie board? Say no more. Even if I am dairy free.

Fast forward to the day of the wedding — I show up to the “simple” backyard wedding and was too stunned to speak. This was one of the most gorgeous and well curated weddings of my career. Ju and Avery were full of great spirit and thought of everything to make this beautiful day perfect. I personally loved the pick a pot and take home succulent, floral ceremony backdrop, and colorful umbrellas in case of rain. The umbrellas came in handy since there was a torrential downpour in the middle of the ceremony! But the didn’t let it deter their joy for a moment. After all, everyone knows a rain shower is sign of good luck!
