Haw River Ballroom Wedding in Saxapahaw with Haleigh & Andy

Andy & Haleigh met in kindergarten. I mean how many people’s love stories actually start over a juice box in the classroom, (they actually had a photo of this on their guest book table) but these two truly are something out of a Lifetime movie you’d watch over and over again. Their families have been intertwined since they had playdates and even though their relationship didn’t blossom until high school, these two have made long distance work through college and finally settled down in North Carolina together. I actually shot their proposal story in late 2019! With their hearts set on a 2020 wedding, they had to push their love story back a few more months. Throughout their wedding day these two were just so happy to officially be able to married, and their families already connected by the years celebrated this joyous occasion throughout the day.

I’ve shot several weddings at Haw River Ballroom before but I’ve never seen anyone use the gray/slate wall as their ceremony spot and I always love how couples can put their unique spin on a space. Haleigh knew she wanted her portraits to reflect the entirety of the space, bringing both industrialism and concert venue together seamlessly. She shared a first look with her dad Hal (her namesake) before sharing a first look with Andy. They threw confetti as they headed back down the aisle. Speeches from Hal and Andy’s brother brought the crowd to tears before they danced into the evening with a live band.
