Intimate Summer Wedding at the Orange County Courthouse in Hillsborough with Cara & Patrick

Have you been thinking about eloping in North Carolina? Stressed about planning an over-the-top wedding, or hoping to be more budget conscious for your big day? Well the variety of courthouses in the Triangle and surrounding counties provide the perfect backdrop for a casual wedding day. But just because your wedding isn't going to have 100 people doesn't mean it's not as meaningful.

The Hillsborough Courthouse in Orange County is the go-to courthouse for couples looking to elope in the Triangle.

Here are some key things to remember if you want to get married at the Orange County Courthouse in Hillsborough

  1. It’s by appointment only - you must also get your marriage license prior to making your appointment and they usually only do it 2 months in advance

  2. They are doing outside ceremonies on a case by case basis - I’ve found that couples that arrive EARLY, have all their paperwork and witnesses ready usually get priority for outside. It also doesn’t hurt to have a good attitude or maybe bring some sweet treats.

  3. There are so many great places for photos including parks, restaurants , coffee shops, wine bars and more. This is also great to grab a quick celebratory drink with friends and family.
