Romantic Outdoor Wedding at Timberlake Earth Sanctuary - Aidan and Max
The wedding we had all been waiting for! Aidan booked me in the fall of 2019 for their wedding. We did an awesome engagement session inside their amazing, historic apartment in Downtown raleigh (you can check that out here if you’re interested) and so when their wedding day at Timberlake Earth Sanctuary finally arrived I was so excited. I had been wanting to shoot at this sprawling, outdoor venue for so long and then the weather report hit. Rain! And not just a light rain either, all day, torrential downpour that only happens in the south kind of rain. Obviously we were all devastated, but Aidan didn’t let this deter her from having an outdoor ceremony (When Emily sent me an email the morning of the wedding that said “We will go on no matter the weather” I was so pumped, and armed with a plethora of rain gear)
Now let me tell you a little bit about the dress - this one of a kind, handmade piece, that is adorned with clay flowers on the bodice had been in Aidan’s Pinterest board long before she had a ring on her finger. It took her months to track down the designer and she ordered it from Canada without even trying it on because she knew this was the dress for her and man was her instincts correct. This amazing dress was absolutely stunning in the rain, with a floral underlay that truly peeked out because of the wet climate. They shared a magical first look that felt more out of a Renaissance Painting than real life.
Luckily the rain let up just long enough for their ceremony in the woods. Honestly I’m going to stop talking about this amazing wedding and show you instead because seriously, these photos are drop dead stunning!!!!
