Winter Elopement at the Durham Courthouse with Melisa & Bruce

Thinking about getting married at the Durham County Courthouse?

The Durham Courthouse is a favorite for local couples who are eloping in the Triangle. With access to lots of great restaurants and bars to have a celebratory, post ceremony drink. Not to mention the magistrates and security personel are always so friendly.

The Durham Courthouse takes walk-ins from 11-3 and is on a first come first serve basis.

Now let’s chat about Melisa and Bruce. This is a once in a lifetime, right time, type of story. You see Melisa was visiting Orlando with some friends and happened to meet Bruce. They went on one date, and then eventually ending up hanging out everyday she was in town. Ultimately she had to go back to Peru and Bruce decided to continue the relationship, going to Peru 7 times! It was instant love. Eventually Melisa moved to the states, pursuing a Masters degree at Duke University. Now that they are living in Durham they wanted to make it official, and had her parents and sister come over to celebrate this momentous day together.

Melisa also knew that she wanted to incorporate the Durham cityscape into her photos and her love of textures, especially brick into her portraits. We walked around downtown before heading to the Weldon Mills Distillery in Durham to cheers to the newlyweds.
