Whimsical Winter Wedding at St Thomas Preservation Hall in Wilmington with Georgie & Chandler
Chandler and Georgie were hoping to find an inclusive and body positive photographer to capture their special day in Wilmington, NC, where the couple resides. The two met in 2018 when Georgie moved to the area and began to attend the theatre where Chandler also shared her passion for performing. Both Chandler and Georgie were described as wonderful performers by their friends and family and memories were shared of their love of singing, dancing, and performing on stage. The couple has been inseparable since they started dating in 2019.
As a queer, interracial couple, Chandler and Georgie had a vision for their wedding ceremony. One that celebrates the differences that make their love so unique. When you’re invited to beach wedding, you normally picture something warm and airy. But for them, they pictured more of a moody Yuletide aesthetic, than your traditional Wilmington beach wedding.
The wedding ceremony itself took part later in the day at the St Thomas Preservation Hall, but not before I had the chance to capture stunning portraits of the couple during every photographers favorite time: Golden Hour. At The Inn at City Club served as a timeless background for the beautiful portraits I captured of Chandler, Georgie, and their close friends posing beside the tree lines of the venue.
I can still recall the group hug that the couple shared with their wedding party right before the ceremony began. The love and adoration the couple have not just for one another but with their guests was evident in every aspect of their wedding day. And although the flower boys almost stole the show, all eyes were mesmerized by the beautiful couple as they stood on stage in front of twinkly lit trees to exchange vows. The whole ceremony was nothing short of magical.
But the magic didn’t stop there! For their exit, Chandler and Georgie had snow machines set up to create a winter wonderland in the little beach town where they met and fell in love.
